Hello to All,
We are getting closer to our September meeting at the Tradewinds Island Resort in St. Pete Beach September 17th – 18th. The training at this seminar will be highly beneficial to all of our members. We are still looking for award nominations to be reviewed by the Executive Board. I know all of you have done some great investigation this year, and it’s time that you are recognized for all of your hard work. You can submit the nomination directly to anyone of us on the board. There is a change to our Constitution regarding the nomination of new board and existing board members that was sent to everyone last month. This new change will be voted on during our opening ceremonies on Friday morning. I hope with new change if passed, will get you the members interested in running for the board in January 2017.
I want to thank those of you from Florida who recently attended the annual training Conference in Phoenix this month. It was nice to see some familiar faces there as I was sworn in as this year’s IAATI President. I will start my travel to the IAATI Chapter/Branches in October this year. This will not conflict with my commitment to FATIU in anyway.
Our Legislative Co-Chairman Les Cravens has presented to the National Insurance Crime Bureau a letter of support for our Theft Prevention Authority legislation. I am hoping that NICB will back this legislation, so we can start getting funding for our agencies.
I hope to see as many of you as possible in St Pete Beach in September. As a reminder, the hours of the hospitality has changed and will be starting later on Thursday night.
Be Safe and Take Care,
Todd M. Blair, President

The most effective weapon in the fight against crime is cooperation. FATIU provides its members with an enormous wealth of experience, training and resources in areas such as technical developments, trends, intelligence and investigative assistance. Through FATIU we are better able to serve our constituencies through this pooling of interests and resources.
FATIU is also a strong force in the legislative world. Our goal is to push those bills that support the effort to stop theft in Florida. We encourage all members to participate in each legislative meeting we hold and to bring in new suggestions and potential bills.
