The Florida Auto Theft Intelligence Unit is proud to give two prestigious awards at each January's training session. The awards are given in memory of 2 past members of FATIU who went above and beyond in the fight against auto and title fraud thefts. Gordon Schaefer, Special Agent with NICB, was killed while conducting a vehicle inspection when the car fell. Karen Reyes was a Field Supervisor with the FL DMV and an auxiliary FHP trooper. She was a member of the Miami-Dade Auto Theft Task Force and always put her best effort into fighting theft.
NOMINATIONS ARE DUE BY SEPTEMBER OF EACH YEAR FOR THE AWARDS TO BE GIVEN IN JANUARY.
