May 2008 Training AnnouncementThe next training session of the Florida Auto Theft Intelligence Unit will be held on May 7th and 8th, 2008. The Daytona Beach Police Department will host this meeting at the Plaza Ocean Club, 640 N. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach. Room rates are $109.00 per night and the parking fees have been waived. Reservations can be made at 800-874-7420; you must mention the Florida Auto Theft Intelligence Unit to get this rate. RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY April 20, 2008 or you may not be able to get this room rate!! Do not wait, reserve ahead of time and you can cancel later if you need to.Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 at 1:00 pm, a tentative DMV Advisory meeting with DHSMV Director Carl Ford is being scheduled. The legislative meeting will immediately follow the DMV advisory meeting. Anyone with items for the legislative agenda is urged to contact Neil Chamelin at doc850law@comcast.net Thursday, May 8th the training will consist of foreign motorcycle identification and in the afternoon we will conduct Harley Davidson motorcycle identification.You are reminded that you need not be a member of FATIU to attend this training session, but are urged to join. A hospitality program will be provided at the hotel on Wednesday.
